Sangam age is of 1st AD to 3rd century AD. Maram was a code of conduct where to die in war was more important. Getting stabbed in the back was great insult. The duty of the king was wage war plunder wealth and give it as gift to poets and bards. War was duty like agriculture. Basically all practices of early Tamils was were completely different to what a common Hindu lives these days. I dont know why so many tamils hate gandhiji and his family.they blindly follow one person and dont think for self.same thing happened with mahatma melkote I dont know what you get into peace movement. why all tamils wont speak kannada we only speak tamil why should we speak kannada and not tamil ask tamils.
Hi Jaya, Thank you for your reply. Well, in Ancient India people were not so narrow minded. There were different languages in different regions and you find them living together in harmony. So people spoke a different languages in other regions, they dont felt offended or anything. Its not as if they were speaking dialects of same language. So its a different situation. For example Tamil, as i see your query is a one thing. There are people who consider Kannada as under same language. And even if there was no such difference among all the languages, I dont think people would differentiate it. So whether its the case in our time or future, my guess will be the same.
Tamil is a member of Dravidian family. The Tamils are more Dravidian than any other language. Sanskrit belongs to Indo-European Family. Tamils are an Indic Language and can not be part of the Aryan family. We tamilians dont have much to share with Indic Languages like Sanskrit. We dont need to share our reality of today with them, rather we need to keep our civilization, culture and history.
