Legion of Super Heroes Season 02

At the 2006 Comic Con International, the production staff did not officially say whether legal issues at the time involving the ownership of Superboy had affected this series or whether changes were made to tie the series in with the Superman Returns film, but one significant change had been made since the announcement of the series. The original press release referred to "the young Superboy",[4] while the revised press release, published in June 2006, described the character as a young Superman. At the conclusion of the pilot episode, Clark adopts the superhero name of Superman, and not Superboy. In the second season, which takes place two years after the end of the first season, the character is called Superman, without reference to his "young" status.

In the second season, Karate Kid appeared in the opening credits with the other Legionnaires, though he did not appear until the fifth episode (in which Nemesis Kid also became a new member). Similar to Karate Kid, Sun Boy appeared in the second season opening titles and made semi-regular appearances but did not have a speaking line or have someone else refer to him by name. Ayla Ranzz, sister of Lightning Lad, finally made an appearance, but as a child without apparent super powers and not as the Light Lass of the comic books.

Season Two of the animated sci-fi/superhero series Legion of Super-Heroes aired on the CW Network from September 22nd, 2007 to April 5th, 2008, spanning a total of thirteen episodes. It was the final season of the show.

He decides to go to the 31st century to help the Legion and become proficient at his powers. The series centers on the young Superman's adventures in the 31st century, fighting alongside a group of futuristic superheroes known as the "Legion of Super Heroes". Known as the LEGION OF SUPER HEROES, they battle villains like archnemeses the FATAL FIVE, a deranged professor who is fascinated by fears and their most difficult face-off: LIGHTNING LAD'S brother MEKT RANZZ. Not even super heroes can avoid sibling rivalry. With every adventure, Superman continues to grow into his destiny, until a journey to a distant world shows him the limitations of his powers. Joining the likes of The Spectacular Spider-Man and Young Justice, The Legion Of Superheroes lasted two seasons before its unfortunate cancellation. Where Young Justice was able to be revived thanks to a strong fanbase, The Legion Of Superheroes remained a cult gem.

According to IMDb, the best episodes of The Legion of Superheroes all stem from the more mature second season. The darker tone and serialized storytelling combined with the development of fan-favorite characters such as Brainiac 5 and Lightning Lad resulted in a season that many viewers found superior.

The second season is when The Legion of Superheroes got darker and "Cry Wolf" is a perfect example of that. Timber Wolf, in general, is a tragic character due to his twisted origin story. In this episode, Timber Wolf's story is developed even further that will make anyone feel sorry for him. It ends up delving into a sad but real topic that family is more than blood relation and that a found family can supersede a biological one.

The Legion has made quite a few enemies over the Legion of Superheroes, amongst them is the spoiled brat of a sorcerer named Zyx. In season 2, however, Zyx has come to the Legion as an ally seeking help against an even worse sorcerer. Originally, he was one of the more obnoxious villains on the show, but, surprisingly, Zyx evolves in "Trials".

Continuing from the first episode of season 2 of The Legion of Superheroes, the Legion returns to their present time in the 31st century with a new member of their team: Kell-El, a Superman clone known as Superman X. Unfortunately, the season's big threat known as Imperiex has already arrived in their time from the 41st century.

This episode helped in establishing the new format from an episodic sci-fi superhero series to a continuous serialized epic story that spanned across the whole season. It further shows that Legion of Superheroes was growing up into a darker and more mature show than its previous season.

With the very first episode of the second season, fans were shocked by the drastic change in tone. This is a very similar method of storytelling that the beloved Young Justice took on and it works just as well in The Legion Of Superheroes.

One thousand years from now, Superman, the legendary Man of Steel, will inspire a group of emerging super heroes from the 31st century to band together to defend the rights of all free worlds and uphold the laws of the newly formed United Planets. In later years the Legion's origin and back story were fleshed out, and the group replaced Superboy as the focus of their stories; eventually Superboy was removed altogether. The Legion has remained a somewhat popular DC franchise throughout its publishing history, appearing in regular features during most of this time. The founding members of the Legion were Lightning Lad, Saturn Girl and Cosmic Boy.In other media The Legion of Superheroes appear on Superman Animated Series in the episode New Kids in the Town, Justice League Unlimited in the episode Far from Home and had the Legion of Superheroes animated series that lasted for 2 seasons. 041b061a72
